Tattoo Dos and Don'ts

DOs:

  • Keep it clean, dry, and moisturized
  • Treat it like a wound that needs time to heal
  • Try to keep the bandage on for at least 24 hours
  • Change out your bandage after 24 hours
  • Keep an eye out for signs of adhesive allergies, as some people are known to break out from second skin use.
  • Shower as usual.
  • Call your artist with any issues you have

Don'ts:

  • No pools, hot tubs, tanning beds, or excessive sun exposure
  • No picking at your scab. Lightly slap or pat it instead
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for the first few days, as excess sweat can interfere with the healing process
  • Avoid scrubbing it in the shower. Instead, gently pat with warm water and soap and let the water rinse off the soap. Pat dry.
  • Don't ignore your body. You know your body best, and if something is feeling off, please call your artist right away.
  • Don't pay someone else to do a touchup. Touch-ups are FREE for the first year!
  • Absolutely under no circumstances should you feed your tattoo after midnight. It never ends well...trust us.
